Cherokee Community School District 2017/2018 Registration

District Wide Updates:

  • Registration for the Cherokee Community School District will be held at Cherokee Middle School Commons & Gym.  Dates for registration will be August 8th 11am-7pm & August 9th from 11am - 5:30pm.

  • Registration will consist of filling out registration paperwork, making any changes in medical or contact information, and purchasing adult activity tickets for $48.00.  

    • Stop by to see Lou Graybill to fill out the Iowa Eligibility Application and Fee Waiver.

  • ***ALL students riding the bus MUST sign up with Rachel Mallory during registration.  This will include all town bus stop students as well.

  • We ask that all students new to the district call their respective building to set a time to develop a schedule, fill out a records request, etc., prior to registration.

    • Washington High School grades 9-12          (712) 225-6755

    • Roosevelt Elementary School grades K-4    (712) 225-6760

  • ***The Cherokee Community School District is trying to be as paperless as possible.  We are asking all parents to provide an email address to send correspondences, report cards, notifications, etc.

    • If you do not have an email address, we will have options for parents to utilize and set up an email account at registration with Bill Halder or Andrew Wurth.

    • If you need a paper copy of any information CCSD sends out via email, please stop into the respective buildings to request those papers.

  • If you have any questions, please call the appropriate building your child will be attending.

Early Childhood Learning Center *ECLC*/Roosevelt Elementary School *RES*

  • Register at the Cherokee Middle School commons & gym

  • Make sure all medical or contact information is correct.

  • Any students going into Kindergarten will need to bring a copy of a current physical, dental exam, immunization record, and their birth certificate.

  • ***Roosevelt students will meet their teachers on August 23rd.  They will sign up for an appointment time during registration.  The 1st day of classes for TK-4th grade will be August 24th.  First day for ECLC will be September 5th.

Cherokee Middle School *CMS*

  • Register at the Cherokee Middle School commons & gym.

  • Make sure all medical and contact information is correct.

  • Monday, August 21st “Meet the Teacher Night” will be held at CMS.  

    • 5th Graders @ 6pm

    • 6th-8th Graders @ 7pm

Washington High School *WHS*

  • Register at the Cherokee Middle School commons & gym.

  • Make sure all medical or contact information is correct

  • Pay previous year fines/fees, registration fees, WIT classes book rent ($20/class), instrument rental fee ($35), Band Percussion fee ($20), Book rent ($35), and deposit money in lunch account.

  • 2017 yearbook will be available to purchase along with Homecoming t-shirts.

  • Students will receive their class schedules, locker and homeroom assignments after all paperwork is filled out and fees are paid.

  • If a FRESHMAN would like to change their class schedule, please remember to stop into Mrs. Heater’s area after registration to make an appointment.

  • Any Sophomore, Junior, or Senior that wish to change their schedule MUST fill out a change of schedule form with the teacher signatures!!  Mrs. Heater will not change any schedules for these students during registration.

  • Pierson’s Photography will be there to take school pictures.  Every student shall have their picture taken, but is not required to purchase prints.

  • Monday, August 21st, Washington High School will have Freshman & New student orientation @ 6:30pm in the WHS Auditorium.

    • Please remember all new students and Freshman need to have a dental exam done prior to registration!

    • Any student involved in sports for the 2017/18 school year will need a physical and concussion waiver filled out and returned to the school before they will be eligible to participate.
