Prudential Spirit of Community Awards recipient - Arika Hammond

It all started with a $5 donation to an organization of Arika's choice, a class project that has since become an important part of Arika's life. Puppy Jake Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing service dogs to military veterans was the recipient of that $5 and since, so much more. A goal that Arika has been working towards, is to sponsor a service dog. Arika, along with the support of her parents, have traveled to many events, met some pretty important people, and volunteered a good amount of hours in the efforts of raising funds towards her goal. Through this dedication, Arika was selected as one of Iowa’s top two youth volunteers of 2018 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards! Also, because Arkia has dedicated so many hours to Puppy Jake Foundation, she qualified for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Congratulation, very deserving awards for a very dedicated young lady!
