April Cherokee Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month
Congratulations to Avery Mizner for being named the April Cherokee Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month! Avery is the daughter of Jacob Bruce and Ashley Mizner-Bruce of Cherokee. She stays busy in band, track, dance, the 8th grade play, and Girl Scouts.
Avery was chosen by her teachers because she is kind to others and is always willing to lend a hand or an ear to a friend in need. She is respectful and shows integrity in every aspect.
Her favorite thing about Cherokee Middle School is the teachers. She states, “I know that all of the teachers are there for the students if they need help on homework or even just someone to listen.”
She is very involved with her church and has even gone on mission trips. She has gone to Kansas City, Minneapolis, and most recently Sioux Falls where she helped others by serving food and talking with people as they ate. Avery says the best part about helping people is knowing you can make someone’s day better because you never know what people are going through.
After graduation, Avery wants to go to college. She is not completely decided her course of study, but she has a few ideas in mind including dance instructor, photographer, or missionary.
