The Cherokee School District’s Instructional Coaches are Jan Tjeerdsma at Roosevelt Elementary, Linda Ducommun at Cherokee Middle School, and Natalie Barkley at Washington High School. These teacher leader positions were added in our district at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. The instructional coaches’ purpose is to promote the implementation of technology, effective instructional strategies in the classrooms, the Common Core, and state standards. The instructional coaches have quickly become the key “go to” team for meeting the needs of our students.
