Aaron Putzer "Destined for Greatness" Professional Development

Wednesday, CCSD teachers and staff were “Destined for Greatness” by being given the opportunity to listen to guest speaker and author, Aaron Putze from the Iowa Soybean Association, during professional development. His focus was on leadership and the qualities that make a good leader. He opened up with the phrase, “You know you may be from Iowa...and had some funny examples that we could all relate to. The purpose was to show how Iowans have a good work ethic, show respect and are dedicated to everything they do. In his book, “You Are Destined for Greatness” he focuses on 16 leadership themes. For his presentation today, he talked about four gears to focus on including:
1) attitude/perspective (it’s a choice)
2) Encourage others “I believe in you!”
3) Be in the moment.
4) Be humble
He wrapped up the afternoon by reminding us that “Everything we do matters, but how we do t matters most!” Then he challenged us to offer a word of encouragement today. As teachers, this should be an easy task. CCSD would like to thank Aaron for coming and speaking to us today and promoting leadership qualities that not only benefit us all now, but also in the future.
