Employment opportunities:

  • Substitute Teachers at all levels – We are looking for Substitute Teachers. Our Substitute teachers will supervise students in the event that their regular teacher is unable to lead class. Their duties include managing classroom behavior, quickly interpreting lesson plans and creating reports to inform the students' permanent teacher of their success
  • Middle School Cross Country Coach – The Cherokee Community Schools is accepting applications for the position of Middle School Cross Country Coach. This position is responsible for organizing the Middle School Cross Country program at the Cherokee Community Schools. The position is responsible for conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student athletes in strategies and techniques.
  • Basketball Cheer Coach – Join our team as a Basketball Cheer Coach and take on a hands-on role, leading athletes and providing expert instruction in the exciting world of cheerleading. As a Cheer Coach, you will be directly responsible for delivering the Cherokee Community School Sports Experience and fostering a positive youth sports culture on the field. Your expertise and guidance will help athletes develop their skills while having fun.
  • Middle School Football Coach – The Cherokee Community Schools is accepting applications for the position of Middle School Football Coach. This position is responsible for organizing the Middle School Football program at the Middle School. The position is responsible for conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student athletes in strategies and techniques.
  • Assistant Tennis Coach – The Cherokee Community Schools is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Tennis Coach to develop, promote, and supervise all facets of the tennis team; develop and execute strategies, help organize and direct all aspects of the High School tennis program, organizing practice sessions to enhance the team's performance.
  • Freshman Volleyball Coach - CCSD is in need of a candidate to join our volleyball coaching staff to coach the freshman team.  
  • School Nurse – Cherokee Community School District is looking for a School Nurse to oversee the healthcare of our students and faculty members. The ideal candidate should be compassionate and experienced in educating students, parents, and staff on good health and nutrition. Additional responsibilities include developing school healthcare initiatives, ensuring adherence to all local and national health regulations, and treating students with injuries, sudden ailments, chronic illnesses, and disabilities.
  • (2)-Elementary Special Education Teacher - The Cherokee Community Schools is accepting 2 applications for the position of Elementary Special Education Teacher. Interested applicants should contact Brian Christiansen, CES Principal.
  •  Wrestling Cheer Coach – The Cherokee Community Schools is accepting applications for the position of Wrestling Cheer Coach. The Wrestling Cheer Coach will teach the cheerleading squad to promote school spirit and encouragement of athletic teams. Your experience and guidance will help athletes develop their skills while having fun!
  •  Elementary School Therapeutic Classroom Teacher – The Cherokee Community Schools is accepting applications for the position of Elementary School Therapeutic Classroom Teacher that will be responsible for planning and implementing effective individualized instruction for students with a significant need for academic and therapeutic support for self-regulation and with an overall goal of academic integration in the least restrictive environment. The goal is for each student to utilize coping strategies to transition to a less restrictive placement.

Cherokee is an amazing place to call home. With over 5000 residents, our town offers wonderful resources for everyone. We have many recreational activities including fishing, Canoeing, and a beautiful park system. Our historic downtown provides many shops, as well as live music, entertainment and arts.
