Special Olympics Track Team Travels to State Meet

The Special Olympics team traveled to Iowa State University in Ames for the state track and field meet. The team had a great time enjoying some of the activities provided to the athletes. It was a beautiful weekend with warm weather to have the state competition. The athletes worked very hard to make it to this state level and had tough competition, but they were able to come away with several great finishes. Catie Younie placed 1st in the 1500 M run. Kendra Robinson placed 1st in the running long jump and 2nd in the 400m dash. Kaeden Handy placed 6th in the softball throw. Tyler Palmer placed 1st in the 200 M dash and 3rd in the softball throw. It was a great day for all the athletes. Congratulations to everyone on the team!
